The Erie Storm are entering week 4 of the season with a 1-1 record, after coming off a bye last week. The Storm opened their season at home against the Reading Express and beat the defending champions 41-28. The following week in Erie, the Storm lost to the Harrisburg Stampede 41-34.

This week the Storm goes to Reading (1-2). The Express have stumbled at the start of the season, losing to Erie, beating the expansion Richmond Raiders, and then losing to the Harrisburg Stampede.

The Erie franchise has not had much success against Reading, considered by many to be the model franchise of the league and last year's league Champion, but with the likes of Rod Rutherford (QB), Darmel Whitfield (WR), David Dinkins (WR), Roosevelt Benjamin (LB), and Glenroy Watkins (LB) the Storm are better equipped than ever to defeat their division rival.
